Winter Morning — Minnehaha Falls, 1989 Oil on canvas, 26 x 44
Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Sundet
Gjertson considers himself to be a “fair weather” landscape painter. He does not wish to capture every fleeting outdoor effect, in all kinds of weather in every season. He prefers the effects of early morning or late afternoon and evening, generally working on landscapes in warm, sunny weather during the summer and fall. Winter Morning—Minnehaha Falls was an exception.
