Warming Up, 2004
Oil on canvas, 48 x 38

A young dancer stretches at the barre before rehearsal. The model for this painting is the best friend of the artist’s daughter, Elizabeth, who suggested that her father paint a work of Lauryn. The two posed together previously for Visiting Hours‹December Joy. Lauryn is a talented dancer and a marvelous model.

Warming Up, head study, 2004
