The Artist’s Wife, Patricia, 1977 Charcoal, 17 x 14
Collection of the artist
The artist did many portraits and figure drawings in charcoal and pastel during the 1970s. He disliked the mess that these media created and changed to doing them in pencil. After he completed this portrait of his wife, Gjertson only did one more commissioned portrait in charcoal.
